Connecting digital video cam to Compaq cumputer

I have a digital vedio samsung cam recorder 320x and want to connect it to my
Compaq Presario computer to use Windows Movie Maker. The only conection I
have is the cable that came with the cam that has a single point plug that
connects to the cam and have a video, audio duel plugs on the other end.
What do I need to connect it so that the computer will reconize the conection?

You need a firewire port on the pc, check here to see if you have, scroll
down to the part which says "The PC"

and then you'll need a firewire cable to connect the cam to this port.
