connect wireless thru PPPOE

I have bought a wireless router and want to connect wirelessly to the
internet but I use PPPOE. My computer picks up the wireless connection but,
of course, I can't use the internet because I am not logged into the ISP. I
have tried to set up a new connection using the new connection wizard, but
the computer won't sign-in to the ISP network using the wireless connection
and I get a message saying that it can't get any response and then wants to
redial. Is there any way to sign into PPPOE using a wireless router?

You need an ADSL Modem:

ISP => Telephone Cable=> ADSL Modem => Ethernet cable to WAN port of WiFi
Router => PC via WiFi or Ethernet cable.
You will have to configure the Modem as per your ISPs instructions and
settings.

Thanks Roberto for your quick reply, but actually, I have the ADSL modem and
that connects to the wireless router to transmit the signal. If I plug the
ethernet modem directly into the computer and sign in, then I can access the
internet. I just can't figure out how to sign in wirelessly.

You have to set up the router that way. Read the manual. There is usually a
screen in the router setup for enabling PPOE and entering your credentials.

How does your PPPoE service work? Do you have a username/password that you
need to supply before it gives you Internet access? If yes, then your new
wireless router should have a section, in its configuration web page, to allow
you to entry this info.
