Connect ethernet router cable to wireless adapter

I travel a lot with an IBM T-60 laptop, and would like to be able to connect
it wirelessly.

In many cases I have access to a regular network ethernet cable for internet
access, but no wireless connection. The ethernet cable (Cat 5, RJ 45) is
typically hooked into a server or router (usually a wall plug such as a
hotel).

Is there a wireless adapter I can plug into the available ethernet cable and
then connect to the wireless built into my computer?

An Apple Airport Express works very well for this. Not sure what other mfrs
have made, but check the Netgear/Linksys/Dlink line.
