Confused About Driver Version

I have the ATI Tool and it says I have Catalyst Version 4.12 loaded. Yet
when I go to Aquamark's web site and view the detail from one of my scores,
the View Detail information shows that my driver is 6.14.10.6497.

I just downloaded Catalyst 5.6 from ATI's website. What will my driver
number change to, if I load 5.6? Should I uninstall the driver and control
panel before I load the 5.6? Lastly should I load 5.6?

go to Display Properties > Advanced > Options tab
you will see both a Catalyst version number
and a 2D version number - most people will refer to the Catalyst number.
Its always best to use add/remove programs to uninstall drivers and control
panel
then reboot and install the new drivers.
The 5.6s are good drivers but keep the 4.12s handy in case you have problems
as everyone's PC is a little differant - no one can guarantee your results.

Thanks Sleepy. I'll do a complete backup of my system and then do the
upgrade.
