Configuring TCP/IP on Windows 2000 sever

I installed Win2k server on Dell Optiplex 150.The PC has an
integrated NIC. I assigned a static IP address to install DNS,DHCP and
Wins but none of the networking services couldn't contact the nic. I
can see that everthing is correct under My Netwok places\local area
network properties but when I go to Ipconfig /all under the command
line I don't see the assigned IP address nor the subnet mask.
Ipconfig /all info:
host name----------------------XXL
Node type-----------------------Broadcast
Ip Routing enabled--------------No
Wins Proxy enabled--------------No

media state---------------------cable disconnected
Description---------------------3com ....etc
physical address----------------00-00.....etc

I formated the system and did a fresh installation but didn't solve
the problem.

Does any one have any idea?

thanks
Sam

Is the nic connected to a hub? A serverinstall needs to 'feel' contact to
something else.

No Marina.

The server was not connected to anything. I will try it then with a
connection to a hub.
Thanks for the 411
