Configuring email address(es) with Outlook 2003

Hi everyone,

I am going into my senior year of college, and in my summer boredom, decided
to create a more permanent email address to take the place of the address
that is set to expire next year.

As I attempted to add another email address (an @gmx.com account), I somehow
can no loner use outlook at all. I have used it for 3 years with my college
account, and now I can't get outlook to work with my new GMX account, my
university account, or both at the same time. In short, I can't get outlook
to work at all.

I found step-by-step guides for both account on how to configure email
accounts with Outlook, but it doesn't work. I even tried downloading Mozilla
Thunderbird, and had the exact same problems. This tells me that I'm doing
something wrong, not Outlook.

This is rather frustrating though, I have no idea where I went wrong.

I originally used an IMAP account with my college address. So my incoming
mail server line was imap.uvm.edu and outgoing was smtp.uvm.edu. I don't
understand why this has to be so complicated, can anyone help me out?

What happens when your try?
What exactly "doesn't work"?
Do you get any error messages?

You'd need to have the server settings for your gmx.com account as well.
Note that if you are connecting to a mail server located on a different
network that you are currently on, then you'd need to enable authentication
for the SMTP server in order to be able to send email.
