configuring an HPLJ1200 for printing locally from a remote desktop

I am having a problem with configuring my office computer & printer - an
HPLJ1200 USB printer to be recognized when I log into a remote computer so
that I can print from the remote computer to my office desktop.

I installed the HPLJ1200 driver on the remote computer and I have the
HPLJ1200 setup as my default printer on my office computer.

Both computers are running Windows XP Pro - latest updates.

I notice the port that is being used by the HPLJ1200 on my office desktop is
DOT4.

Is there something I need to do so that this "Dot4" port is seen by the
remote printer ?

Thank you.
