Hi,

I am a new user to windows mail and I see it described as an upgrade to
outlook express. However I cannot find a way to list my contacts in the
bottom left window where they usualy are. Having that contacts list to
scroll through was a very useful tool - where is it?

Also when I attempt to add a contact I receive an error message, 'unable to
load contact.' When I click contacts on the menu bar, none of the ones that
I previously added are there, just a lot of unidentifiable programs and
gook.

Pleas help,

Darryl

Windows Mail does not have an option to show contacts on the
lower left, as in OE. You will have to click on the Contacts button
if you want to scroll through your contacts. However, the
recommended way to start a new message is:
1) Click Create Mail, then
2) Click the To button and select recipients.

Regarding your other question, try resetting the contacts default:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Contacts". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
