Configuration problem

Erik T

Trying to configure Windows Mail to my live.com address and keep getting this
error message.

Account: 'Windows Live Mail', Server: 'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3,
Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail
server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number:
0x800CCC90

outgoing mail is set to stmp.comcast.com

I tried switching it from live.com without success. Your input is appreciated.

Unless you have a paid Hotmail account, you won't have POP access
for the free Hotmail or Live.com accounts.

Those accounts will work in the newer Windows Live Mail:

Verify that your Comcast account settings agree with this:

stmp.comcast.net should be smtp.comcast.net.

It look like you have AVG scanning your emails, which is a bad practice:

Chances are, you installed AVG antivirus using its default install option.
If so, uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then
allows you to forego installing the troublesome email scanning module.
