Conditional Formatting

Please can someone help me
i created a spreadsheet in Excel 97-2003 that uses conditional formating to
show progress, red no green yes and was saved as an.xls format I then
migrated to office 2007, I worked on the file again and saved it in 97-2003
..xls format as I
knew i needed to open this on a machine that did not have office 2007 on it.
The Conditional formating keeps changing itself and instead of holding the
format for a single cell, it now adds a string for that cell using all the
formating for the entire sheet, not what i want but it is random and does not
do it all the time ,how do I stop this happening ??

Did you try to see what the 'Conditional Formatting' shows in Excel 2003?

It is difficult to say why this happened (I have not faced this problem till
date) but I suggest you create the conditional formatting again if it
continues to give you a problem.

While saving in XLS format using 2007 it warns you about the things which
will be lost... try to see those warnings if you still have the Excel 2007
version, it might give you a clue.
