Cond Formula for adding only cells of particular colour

Hi,
I need to find a formula which gives me a total in the cell of all cells
which are formatted in a certain colour.
This is for a banking spreadsheet with a running balance across worksheets
so I will need the formula to refer across worksheets.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
