computer will not enter power management state after running a program

My computer will not re-enter the power management state
(standby or hybernate) after running a scheduled program
(e.g., Norton Antivirus Live Update, Backup MyPC, etc.).
I can do it manually by pressing the Sleep key on my
keyboard or by selecting Standby from the Start Menu, but
the computer will not do it automatically, even though I
have the power management times set in Windows. Does
anyone know of a solution?

Hello Dennis,

Try to check up your drivers e hardware installed is nice on hardware devices.
If you have any device not with no installed driver, install it and left
your device manager without conflicts drivers.
Check your BIOS to Power management APM (enable)

My Power Management is Enabled in the BIOS. I can get the
computer to go into standby or hybernate from the Start
Menu or by pressing the sleep key on my keyboard. Also
there are no driver problems on my computer.
