Found many virusus/spyware on Windows XP home computer. During diagnostics
computer would shut off with no warning. Reformatted the hard drive. During
reinstall of Windows XP all goes well until the window which says install XP,
repair, quit comes up. Then the computer instantly shuts off. Any ideas?

You may need to run fdisk, reboot & format.
Now run fdisk to set up partitions.

I did use fdisk and then format c:/s when I put in the XP CD it boots and
installs the preliminary files... but when it gets to the install screen the
computer shuts off. I've tried this 6 times with the same result.
