computer problem with some games

Hello

I´m having a very annoying problem running some games
(namely Anarchy-Online and Colin Mcrae 3) in my computer.
The machine beeps constantly from the moment i start the
game. I dont know where the beeps come from, except that is
somewhere inside the computer.
I can play both games well, no problems with graphics or
sound or whatever, it just beeps constantly and randomly, i
can´t find an explanation... and it´s not always the same
kind of beep... theres a higher and a lower beep.
I tried everything, altering the graphics resolution in the
games, the sound configurations, etc. everything the games
allow me too change i changed... but no success, the beeps
still remain no matter what i try.
Can it be a memory or motherboard problem?
my spec is: P4 2,4 Ghz
512 DDR Ram memory

sorry, a logistics problem here (my clumsy self)
interrupted my spec description, so here goes:

P4 2,4 Ghz
512 DDR Ram
NVidia Ge-Force 4 Ti 4800 SE
Sound Blaster Live! soundcard
Windows XP Home Edition

i made a reference here to the Windows XP because i have a
similar computer at work with Windows 2000 Professional
instaled, and i tried to run the games there and it doesn´t
beep

Thank you kindly for any help trying to solve this very
annoying problem

Go into Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer and click on
Application in the left pane. It will reveal system events in the right
pane. Look in there for any error messages (either yellow triangles with an
exclamation point or red circle with a white X), and you can right-click
those and select Properties. That will reveal the error (or at least a
portion of it) to perhaps give us a clue.

Followed your advice but i dont get any error or warnings
in the aplications.
Maybe i was not very clear in my explanation. The game
doesnt crash or stop or pops out or anything, there are no
errors whatsoever... it just beeps, or blips, constantly
and randomly... and the beeps come from inside the CPU box,
not from the soundcard columns. I tried to lower the game´s
graphic resolution and seems like it beeps a lot less
sometimes, but it still does it. I have all the latest
direct x and graphics card updates. Can it be from running
windows xp? i dont have this problem in a machine with
windows2000pro. And it only happens in Anarchy Online and
CMcRae3, not in Unreal Tournament or other games.
it´s driving me crazy :-/

The beeps you're hearing mean something is wrong. For instance, a long beep
followed by two short ones during boot up means a problem with the graphics
card. Take a look here:

Well, i don´t have any beeps at startup or in any other
ocasion, just during gameplay... the thing just beeps and
beeps while im playing... very short beeps, if i play for 2
hours it beeps for 2 hours, if i play 5 minutes it beeps
for that time... it´s just while im playing these games.
Better yet, Anarchy Online runs in a window, if i minimize
the window it stops beeping, and starts beeping again if i
restore the window up to play. And before you ask... yes,
it beeps in full screen mode too :)

I agree with Chris. Your motherboard (BIOS) is reporting
a hardware problem to you the only way it can: By beeping.

You should consult your motherboard manual to see the
codes are warning you about, or have a technician look at
it. Most likely your system is overheating.
