You appear to be saying that it doesnt lock up if
you keep using it. Is that what you meant to imply ?
I've tried turning off the screen saver but it still locks up.

The most important question is whether the lockup happens at a
fixed time after you have last used it, or whether the time to lockup
is random except in the sense that it happens within a half hour or so.

If its a fixed time, there's some problem with one of the power
management functions, it cant come back out of that properly.

Check that the fans and heatsinks are all working and connected on your
motherboard, PCU and video card.

Somewhere inside you have a thermal fault that is causing the lockup. The
two most likely culprits are the power supply unit and the motherboard. The
easiest test to try first is for you to replace the PSU with a known working
one. If that does not fix it then you probably have a dying motherboard.
