computer freezes

I need help please. My computer (brand new dell with xp home) freezes for a
few secoonds every minute or so. I have checked task manager and something
called "system" usses the whole cpu while the freeze occurs, also in the
system monitor called performance I get a message saying "at least one data
sample is missing", any ideas?

You should run virus ,spyware removal from your computer.
Need virus protection, get some. Need spware removal?

so you can restore fixes. You'll also need to remove

Look in Task Scheduler for a scheduled task. Start, All Programs,
Accessories, System Tools, Scheduled Tasks.
