computer files not accessible

I have a network with 4 computers running Windows XP Professional using peer
to peer networking. The system is not connected to internet. All the
computer can see each other but computers 1 thru 3 cannot access computer 4.
The message is as follows with I chick on computer 4 on network form the
other three computer.
\\ (computer name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
the network resources. Contract the administrator of this server to find
out if you have access permission.
Logon Failure: The user has not been granted the requested logon type at
this computer.

At one time all the computer on the network was communicating with each
other until computer 4 copied some files from outside source. The antivirus
program was loaded and the viruses removed. Since then the problem
happened. Any idea what could be causing this. There are no servers on the
network only peer to peer. Thanks

There is a setting called 'User Rights Assignment' on PC 4
which has gotten messed up.

Since it's XP Pro, it's an easy fix.

Start | Run | type 'secpol.msc' in the box and hit return;
+Local Policies;
+User Rights Assignments
Look through the policies for the one called:
'Access this computer from the network'

By default, this is set to:
Everyone, Administrators, Users, Power Users, Backup Operators.

If the 'Everyone' group is missing, the guest account will not be permitted
network access. and Simple File Sharing is now broken.

Double-click the 'Access this computer from the network' policy, and 'Add
User or group' and add the 'Everyone' group back in.

Next, scroll down through the policies till you find :
'Deny Access to this computer from the network'.
The only thing listed should be SUPPORT_XXXX.

If Guest ( or anthing else ) is listed here, delete it.

You may need to re-boot for these changes to take effect.

Thanks for the tips. I tried it out but did not fix the problem. The
'Access this computer from the network' was blank, no default settings.
When I go to 'Add User or Group' the object type is 'Users or Built in
security principals' is checked, the 'Groups' is not checked and 'Users' is
checked. When I try to add items such as Everyone, Administrators, etc. I
get the following message.
An object named "xxx" cannot be found. Check the selected object types and
location for accuracy and ensure that you typed the object name correctly,
or remove this object from the selection.
When I do the same for 'Groups' it accepts it but when I reboot the 'Access
this computer from the network' is blank again and no one can access the
computer.
The 'Users or Built in security principals' seems to be the default object
type.
