Computer crashes un-expectedly

I recently had a new hard drive installed on my computer to replace my old one...and since then my computer crashes almost every time i use it. Usually it crashes when I watch a DVD in media player or use 3DS MAX. I have re-installed windows and the problem still remains. When it crashes nothing happens, no bluescreen, no error message it just crashes. I have also ran a virus scan and spyware scans and they both came up empty.
Any replies would help.
Thanks.

Is your graphics card up to the task of playing DVD's? Have you checked out
your power supply?
