Ok so I have a computer if you need the specs let me know....Well
took out the processor and put it back in because i had a new fan t
put in on it. When I would boot up I would get the error CPU i
unworkable or has been changed, please recheck CPU soft menu. an
then you could press F1 to continue and the computer would boot u
and work perfectly fine. I searched the internet to see what I coul
do to fix this error. I found that I should go into my bios an
choose load optimize defaults. So I did that and chose save and the
rebooted. Following the reboot it got hung right after it says memor
check pass. It will not let you hit del to go into bios or do anythin
it gets hung right after that everytime and no way to boot up int
anything. Does anyone know of anything to possibly fix this
Thanks in advance

OK, first your BIOS was just giving you a "heads up" that your CPU has
changed. You could have double-checked the CPU settings, or loaded
optimized defaults, which you did. Unfortunately, it seems the system won't
boot correctly with optimized defaults. Now the best thing to do would be
to clear CMOS settings completely. Go to your motherboard, remove the
battery and set the clear CMOS jumpter to the clear setting. Leave it like
that for at least 15 minutes. Then set the jumper back to normal and
reinstall the battery.

After clearing CMOS, see if the computer will boot correctly. Probably not,
but just see if it will. If it will NOT, see if you can load default
settings in BIOS, but NOT "optimized" default settings, as you've already
tried that, and it was a bad thing to do. :) -Dave
