computer accounts disappearing

Hi,

we have the following problem:
The computeraccounts of 2 of our servers have disappeared from the
domaincontrollers.
One of the server was win200 the other was win2003.
We have a win2003 domain.

Eventlog entry: Event ID 5721 - The session setup to the Windows NT or
Windows2000 Domaincontroller for the Domain xxx failed because the DC does
not have an account for the computer xxxx

The 2 sever were running for months and the were no problems so far.

How could this happen ?

The most likely cause would be someone clicking where they should not have
been and deleting them. Did you check the event logs on your domain
controllers to see if the use of privilege was documented?
