compressing excel file

Hi, I copied several tabs from an excel spreadsheet into a
new spreadsheet. The total size for the original
spreadsheet was 20mb. When i copied the tabs to the new
sheet the size on my spreadsheet is still 20mb. I have
compressed the file and it is now down to 7mb, but should
only be about 1-2mb. Any suggestions? thanks

Use CTRL+END on each worksheet to see if the last used cell is where you
expect it to be. If not, select all rows between where it should be and
where it is, and delete them (using Edit > Delete, NOT the delete key on the
keyboard). Repeat for columns. Save the file, and confirm that the last used
cell is where you expect. This is the most likely cause of a bloated file.
