Compressed (zipped) Folders

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article No.306531. titled “How to create and use
compressed (zipped) folders in Windows XPâ€, states that it applies to both
the Professional and Home Editions. I have an OEM version of the Home
Edition. The article states, “Right-click a blank area on the desktop or in
an open folder, point to New, and then click Compressed (zipped) Folderâ€.
When I right-click I do not get a menu that has Compressed (zipped) Folder as
an item that can be selected. Can anyone tell me what my problem is?

OEM or retail makes no diffrence,1st put the data into a new folder that
you create,once done,R.click the folder,select:"move to a zipped folder".
Once thru, the old unzipped (regular folder) can be deleted.

Daniel: Thank you for your help. The mising item has been restored to the
Send To menu. But I would also like to restore it to the menu when I
right-click a blank area on the desktop, and when I open a folder and point
to New in the File menu. Can you help me with these two items.
