compressed foto to AOL email

up until recently I could select a foto from My
Directory/My Pictures; then select ''email this foto and
Windows would compress and attach compressed foto to email.

Now even tho I have prepared the email on AOL, and Windows
compresses the foto, no foto is attached to the AOL email.

This is a convenient feature because I am still on a 56K
modem and compression speeds up load time for me.

I can still attach a foto to AOL email address, but the
foto file is large, 1+mgb.

How can I fix this? Any help appreciated.
