Compressed Files in Disk Cleanup

Hi

I am doing a Disk Cleanup on my laptop. I am at a screen where it asks me
if I want to delete certain things that include the recyclable bin, temporary
files and conpressed files. Does anyone know what Compressed Files are? I
don't want to delete something I need but if it is not needed than I would
like to delete it.

Thanks,

CHK all the boxes, let it clean up all.If you want to edit more of CLEANMGR
Go to run, type:CLEANMGR /SAGESET Pick the files to clean, all is right. After
return to run, type:CLEANMGR /SAGERUN Disk clean up runs, and cleans the
settings you just adjusted it to.....

Look a little closer: It's not offering to delete compressed
files, it's offering to compress seldom-used files for you.
Unless you're low on disk space, and considering the amount of
time that it can take to compress, it's seldom of much use.
It's not going to delete them though, so no worry in that
area.
