Short question: how do you remove all references to a user's password in XP?
Long story:
I have been using Windows Vista in a dual-boot since March. However, I have
been leaving all of my documents in my user account on the XP partition.
Well, this XP user account is password protected and, even though I used the
same username and password in Vista, the files in the XP user folder were
read-only in Vista but accessible by going through UAC. At the same time,
the XP All Users user files are fully accessible from Vista, I'm guessing
because there's no password on that account (of course).
So...I decided to remove the password from my XP account in hopes that it
would allow me free access from Vista. However, I know that simply removing
the password in XP from the User Account panel in Control Panel does not
remove all references to that user's password. I just don't know how to
actually do so. Can someone please point me in the right direction to remove
all references to a user's password in XP? Thanks
