Compatibility with Office 2003/MS Project 2003

A MS tech told that Office 2003 is not compatible with Vista - and that is
the reason why three recent updates fail at installing.

Is that correct? The Vista Upgrade Advisor says Office 2003 is compatible.

Thanks

1. Do you have a printer hooked to laptop?
2. If yes, does Word 2003 tools correctly insert both addressee and return
address on envelopes?

Hello...

I just got a Gateway laptop with Vista Home
premium and the Office 2007 Student, etc. TRIAL
version.

Are there any problems I shoiuld anticipate if I
uninstall (using the Control Panel) the TRIAL
Office 07 so I can install my Office XP Pro (the
one with Word 2002) from my CDs?

Thanks.

Hi, help, how did you do it. I have just bought Microsoft Vista basic and I
want to work with Office 2003 (not very computer literate). I installed
Office 2003 which worked fine, but if i use the word or excel in office and
save it, it will automatically go into microsoft works then I cant send it
via email etc., Am I supposed to take Works off?

Help!

I have been following this thread and still cant figure out the best way of
going about installing Office 2003 with Vista. Irecently bought a laptop
which came with a trial version of Office 2007. Iwant to use Office 2003.
What is the best way of installing Office 2003. Should i completely uninstall
office 2007 first? What are the problems I should look out for. Can someone
help with instructions for user with limited computing skills.

Well, you first uninstall Office 2007 from Programs and Features (Control
Panel), because having both Office 2003 and 2007 can cause some conflicts.
Next, is you install Office 2003, the recommended way is to insert the disk,
open Computer > open the disk, right click 'Setup' > click 'Run as
Administrator', do the same for Project 2003. It is recommended that you
download the latest Service Pack (3) for the suite the enable better
compatibility with Vista.
