Comparing Documents

When comparing two documents in Word 2002, Word displays insertions and
deletions in the same color, although deletions display in strikethrough.

Is it possible to show insertions and deletions in different colors, say,
green and red, respectively? Seems to me I used to be able to do this in
earlier versions of Word. Thanks for your help.

You should be able to set that up in your options. Tools + Options, then
click on the Track Changes tab. There are options there to change the colors
for added/deleted text.

Hi George,

From the Tools menu, select Options and then go to the Track Changes tab.

Or run a macro containing commands such as:

Options.InsertedTextColor = wdGreen
Options.DeletedTextColor = wdRed

Hope this helps

Hi Doug:

Thanks for responding to my question.

On Tools | Options | Track Changes I can set options for Insertions, Color
and Formatting. No mention of deletions. The idea of a macro sounds good -
if I knew anything about them. Well I guess I've been usind Word long
enough, so it's time to finally time to learn.

George _ I asked the same thing on the "track changes" thread. apart from a macro, apparently Word 2003 has brought back the 2 colour scheme
