Compaq Question

Hey All this is a general computer question about compaq computers as im
trying to find out if a amd athlon 64 3400+ 512 ram 160 gig HD, nvidia
geoforce 6150 model sr1820nx is a good system ive heard alot of bad things
about compaqs i know i can upgrade the memory to 1 gig and also the video
card has another slot for me to add another video card but since they have
been taken over by hp not sure on how compaq rates alot of treview nows u
need to pay for im looking for gaming video editing and websurfing basically
and cant afford to build my own or by a hi end game this system seems very
good and is upgradable but i dont know about compaqs please all give me help
on Compaqs in general

If you install 1GB RAM, a good video and sound card
(in lieu of the onboard video and sound devices), that
Compaq PC should perform just fine.

They used to make some of the best servers for busninesses. Not sure if
they do anymore.

ok i haveta hold off on the 1 gig of memory for a few months at least but if
i put in a 128 meg ati video card how would that do as for the audio id have
to wait until i could afford a better card like Creative labs audigy i just
not sure how they are as a computer company i never have need for tech
support but if i call a tech will i get good service not like dells format
hd solutions lol and in general are compaqs good now computerwise

Now you wont get good tech service if you dont speak the language tech
support service does.

will i see any differences in amd vs p4 im not talking about overclocking or
technical stuff i mean as far as performance i just need to know how compaq
is like i said i seen 10 posts 8 said they suck 2 said they were good out of
about 20 posts so im wary is that model good anyone have any compaqs??

Just dont confuse an AMD model number CPU with the actual speed it runs
at.
