Company Data Not Shown in Search Results of Outlook Contacts (2007

Joseph@SoFla

This problem surfaced just today, 09/30/08. I have been regularly using the
search feature in Office 2007, Outlook, Contacts, to get a set of phone
numbers for a particular client. For example, if I wanted to pull up all of
my contacts at Bob's Widgets, I would type in widgets since all of my
contacts for that company would have the company name listed in each and
every contact . The search results would highlight the search term and the
results included a column for among other things the "company". Before
today, the results included the company names in the data cells of company
column. Mysteriously, now, I appear to still get the same specific contacts
I would normally expect for my search results. However, the "company" column
contains absolutely no data for any contact and, as such, I can't sort my
results by the company column. The column is simply empty, even though I am
certain company data exists which should be noted and visible in the contacts
search results. the column is there but the data is not. That very same
data is evident in the phone list of my contacts folder.

Got any ideas where things went wrong and what to do to fix them?

Thanks for the information, Diane. As it turns out, my assistant had
modified the instant search pane in the search options window from "only the
current selected folder" to "all folders" when trying to local both sent and
received messages on a particular subject. When changed back to the prior
setting, the missing company data was, again, displayed in the search results
of my contacts folder. Problem solved.

Thanks, Anyway.
