Compaction Error 3112

I am trying to compact a large database of about 24.0kb,
but come up with the message "Record(s) can't be read, no
read permission on 'filename.mdb'
I have reset the security via security wizard, but am
still coming across this message.
Please can you advise what could be the problem please.
It's using Access 97. And when press the help button I get
the message "Record(s) can't be read; no read permission
on <name>. (Error 3112) You must have read permission for
the specified table or query to view its data. To change
your permission assignments, see your system administrator
or the table or query's creator." Which I have admin
access and as I have mentioned earlier I cleared the
security bit to make sure there isn't any set up for it.

Hello and Thank You for the feedback. I am retrieving an
earlier backup of the file, if problem still exists will
try the importing the existing database into a new one
piecemeal way and re-build the relationships etc.
Hopefully this will cure the problem.
Otherwise I might be back if it doesn't work ! :)

Thanks again

Regards Julian
