Compact & Repair: Now my forms add and delete buttons are greyed out

I have been running compact and repair for a long time, at least once a week.
I recently created a set of new forms, reports, and queries. Very simple ones
just did a save as and changed one set of criteria in each query.

Now when I run compact and repair all of my forms have the "add new record"
button greyed out and also the delete button. This is the case unless the
form doesn't call upon any query that asks for criteria

Your queries are not editable. Open them directly in datrasheet view to
confirm that. See the help topic...

"When can I update data in a query?"

They seem to be before I run compact and repair. Well obviously some are and
some aren't. lets take an example.

I have my people enter in our District School info into this form. the query
behind the form is based off of a table and a form. So I can go into that
query in datasheet view and add people if i need to.

then you have the other queries for reports and such that just will display
because they are pulling from other queries and tables.

Now. If I run compact and repair, my form query that i could once update from
datasheet view, I no longer can.

I understand its an issue most likely with a query but I am not sure of what.
This all might just be a bit over my head
