Compact & repair loses connection to networked mdb

Whenever I do a compact and repair of an Access2K mdb I share over a peer to
peer network, one or two PCS lose the connection to the file. The only way I
seem to be able to re-establish the connection is to go to the PC the file is
on and move it to a new folder and create new shortcuts on all the other
networked PCs. What is going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

While I've never experienced such behavior, peer-to-peer networks aren't
nearly a robust as having an actual server setup.

Also I suggest not doing a C&R more than once a month or even then. If you
are having corruption or severe bloating problems, you should fix the root
problem.

Before you C & R do you make sure everyone is out of the db?
