Common Client User Session Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close

I get this error message on boot up "common client user session has encountered a problem and needs to close". This problem stops Explorer and Outlook from working (I can't get on line). When I use "system restore" and choose a date from a week ago the error goes away and everything works again. When I reboot, the same error appears. I have downloaded the latest Explorer patch but it didn't help.
