CometCursor

Hi, I'm not sure if I should be posting this here or not, but here is my
question. I have a computer at a client location, which has a Limited
Account called Patron on it. When you log in to this account, Microsoft
AntiSpyware comes up EVERY time you log in saying that CometCursor is tyring
to install. It doesn't matter what you click (Allow, Remove or one of those
PLUS Ignore this threat), it ALWAYS comes back. If I log into ANY
administrator account on the computer, this notification is not displayed and
if I change the Patron account from Limited to Administrator, the
notification does not display. But as long as the account is a Limited
account, this notification is displayed absolutely 100% of the time. I've
searched the hard drive for files related to Comet, and I've searched and
removed all entries related to it from the registry. Does anyone know how I
can get this anti-spyware program to work right? How do I stop these
notifications for Comet software in a Limited account? If anyone knows, that
would be awesome.

This sounds like a tough one.

You might try using Comet Cursor's own uninstaller, via the link that Engel
posted--I gather from your post that Comet Cursor was installed at some
point in the past.

Here's an idea to test:

Create a completely new user, "Patron1"--also a limited user.

See whether this user gets the same alarm. If not, use the files and
settings wizard to transfer files and settings from Patron, to Patron1, then
delete patron, and rename patron1 to Patron.

That may not all be necessary, if Patron is easy to recreate.
