Combobox does not react to entry

I have a form with a combobox to move to a specific record, based on the
Company name and ID. Finding the record and displaying it is no problem.

The problem is the combobox itself.

Usually when type a letter into the conbobox the first matching entry in the
list (propper sorting and available match given) will be displayed.

But this does not work on one form of my Database.

However, if I open the form in design view, add a new combobox (same data,
purpose etc.), save the form and open it in normal view BOTH the old AND the
new combobox work.

Closing and re-opening the database will render both comboboxes stupid again
- i.e. I have to scroll down to find the company name - typing any letters
will cause ZERO reaction.

Any help would be greatly apriciated!

Have you checked to be sure the Auto Expand property of the combo box is set
to Yes?
Also, is there any filtering on the combo's row source? And, do you have
Service Pack 3 installed?

Auto expand yes, no filter on the row source but only SP2. I will install SP3
and return with the results.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He wasn't suggesting installing SP3! He was asking about
it as this update has caused beaucoup problems! Installing SP3 until Micro
$oft gets it fixed would be a big mistake!

Linq is correct. Do not install SP3.
The reason I asked is because in some cases, SP3 can cause this kind of
problem.
