collection is missing most of the clips from my DV capture

I captured about 90 minutes from my DV camcorder using the entire tape
capture option. I verified that the avi file was a reasonable size (~1.5G)
for high quality NTSC setting, but MM2 only recognized 2 clips about 1 min 50
seconds each. I deleted these 2 clips from my collection and tried to
recapture directly from the AVI file, but again it only recognized these 2
clips.

Prior to trying to capture the entire tape, I tested it out by capturing
about 20 minutes from the same tape and it recognized all the clips
successfully.

Any ideas?

Is your Hard drive formatted in FAT32? Your HDD needs to be formatted in
NTFS in order to capture files larger than 4 GB. IIRC, 90 minutes of high
quality NTSC should occupy much more than 1.5GB.

It is NTFS. Also, I mismakenly said I recaptured from the AVI file. I
recaptured from the WMV file that was generated by MM2.

Yes, I used extended play to record my videos; therefore, I get about 90
minutes on a DV tape. Is that bad?

Actually, the term is long play (LP), not extended play. I read somewhere
that extended play and extended long play are not DV compatible. I don't
even think my camcorder (Canon Vistura) supports the extended play modes.

I split up the file with Windows Media encoder editor and it worked. But it
worked fine on my other video captures recorded in LP mode. So there must
have been something wierd in this particular recording that made MM2 confused.
