Not too experienced there... sorry. I'm thinking that you would just
need to install the propper driver, and use the two sound outputs on
your sound card, one for front.. the other for back speakers. I really
doubt there's more to it but hey, let's see what yoda has to say..hehe.
I'll be glad to see the advice you get from one of these gurus as I
plan to go surround with my pc soon!

I currently have a legacy "Sound Blaster Live!" card and use one of the
outputs for my headphone.. other for my two speaker, one subwoofer
setup.

Go surround - you'll wonder why you never did it before. You will hear cars
coming up behind you and aliens over you shoulder. If your graphics are
up-to-date, then upgrade your sound, games get a new life!!

Good advice but I suggest proximity sensors too because not
all aliens drive cars.
