Clone: What's on Monitor is on TV

Will Hydravision do that?

Basically, as this is strictly a media machine, I'd like to have
whatever is on the LCD panel to be on the TV, if I play a video and
open to full screen, the TV should be the same.

Cat 3.5, MMC 8.5 (actually got it to work) and a 8500/128 Meg Radeon.

Yep, I have that exact setup at the moment. Works fine :)

The default driver settings will do exactly that, you do have to choose the
primary display for video though (advanced settings/displays) - the video
player will show on both displays but the actual video will only display on
the one set as primary. Hydravision really has nothing to do with dual
display functions, it is used to give you multiple virtual desktops on one
desktop.

Might I ask the settings? I've looked at it and can't seem to get it
to work the way I want.

FWIW: Also there is not a Theater Mode on this.

I can't even get the DVI to Component adapter to work.

The player might - but the video doesn't.

So I'll can un-install that.

Then how do I get it so that I can simply start a video on the LCD
panel and have it playing on the TV? I used to have a hot-key combo
that would switch primary displays between the LCD and TV, now with
Cat 3.5 and it's control panel, I have to click yes (to keep the
setting) twice to do this.

I thought the DVI->Component would help but that's worthless.

My settings for that are

(Display settings - advanced)

In ATI Displays, I just press the red button for the TV, click apply and it
comes up. Needs to be 640x480 unless media player is full screen or you
can't see all the screen, it scrolls when you move the mouse. Your primary
display (monitor for me) stays at your original settings if they weren't at
640...
FWIW: Also there is not a Theater Mode on this.

Nor on mine AFAIK.
I can't even get the DVI to Component adapter to work.

I have a DVI -> VGA adaptor on mine, haven't tried it though.

I have S-Video out with a adaptor to phono which I use though to get to TV.

Problem with that is that my LCD panel goes haywire when they are both
primary. TV looks fine - LCD is collapsed.
Nor on mine AFAIK. Wonder what happened to it.

If you do let me know how it goes. I used to be able to at least get
it to show, now blank screen.
I have S-Video out with a adaptor to phono which I use though to get to TV.

I use the S-Vid also, but thinking that IF I could get the DVI
connector to work and it wasn't too bad, I could lose the panel -
considering it's in the living room.

Can't you just use TV and nothing else, or am I missing something?

The TV - via S-Video - isn't sharp enough to do anything more then
watch video, and I do editing, and conversion on the machine via the
LCD panel, so I'd like to have everything on both (the same on both)
so I don't keep having to "swap displays" in the control panel.

It depends on the TV. Using 800x600 the text on mine is very legible (I can
even read the popups from the taskbar icons) and i can go without a monitor
although of course it isn't as sharp. And it isn't a high end model, it's a
non-flat 27" JVC (which has an excellent pictures, btw). Tjhis is on an
8500 64mb retail, I tried a TNT2Ultra on the same TV and it wasn't nearly as
sharp.
