Clipboard no longer working in Remote Desktop

Hi! For one user account on one of our laptops, RDP access to a desktop has
recently degraded. Copy/paste does no longer work for files over RDP,
although enabled in the Client. I noticed that on the remote computer,
drives "D on laptop" to "F on laptop" are visible and accessible, but not "C
on laptop", which probably causes the clipboard not to function either. With
the administrator account on the laptop, this problem does not occur. What
can I do? Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft newsgroup!

From your post, my understanding on this issue is: you can't copy & paste
between a terminal server session and a local machine. If I'm off base,
please feel free to let me know.

The problem is most likely caused by a mis-configured registry key. Please
help me check the following key:

HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\RDPwd\StartupPrograms

"rdpclip.exe"

There's some other keys that could cause this problem. Since the list is
somewhat lengthy you can export the keys under the following path and send
it to newsgroup, I'll check them for you.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\rdpwd

About the invisible driver C on laptop, since the Users group members have
only read permission on the system driver, I think it won't bother your
users much. Therefore I suggest we focus on the clipboard problem first,
after we fixed this problem we can check what's wrong on the driver C.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns, or need anything else.

Thanks for the replys. Actually, the laptop in question had a hard disk
failure the day after my post, so the RDP is not the problem anymore for
now...
Thanks again!
