Copy and paste the following two commands into either the "Run" box on
your 'Start Menu' or a 'Command Prompt' (dos-box) window :

reg ADD HKCR\Folder\Shell /ve /d open /f

reg DELETE HKCR\Directory\Shell /ve /f

(The above commands should both be one-liners but may not appear so due
to line-wrap. Please ensure that the commands both begin with 'reg' and
end with '/f')

*Note - Please exercise care when editing the registry, always create a
backup and / or create a 'System Restore' point first.

Woolee,
the registry 'fix' that I posted was intended to be a
*quick* remedy.

If, however, you are apprehensive of using it, just go to the 'Folder
Options' control panel, and under the 'File Types' tab, go to the type:
"Folder" and click on the 'Advanced' button.

Then simply change the 'Set as default' behaviour from 'Find' to
'Explore' (or to 'Explore from here').

Just as if you were editing the right-click options for any file-type -
the only difference being that you are editing the item for 'Folder'.

Timi, Alan and Peter... Thank you so much for helping me! It worked
wonderfully well.

Now lets just hope whatever my unconstrained digits do... they dont do it
again....
