Clean XP Pro install & partitioning.

Hi,

I've just replaced my old HD with a new 120 Gig. I partitioned the HD 50
Gig / 70 Gig during the OS install procedure and installed XP pro into the
50 Gig, NTFS formatted partition, leaving the remaining 70 Gig raw. XP is
currently only seeing the HD as a 50 Gig drive, is there any way I can
format the remaining 70 Gig drive without creating a set of boot discs, as
I haven't enough floppies. I've booted from the XP CD again but couldn't
see if it was possible to run fdisk from it. Any help greatly appreciated.

Jase.

Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk
Management, Under Storage.

You can create a partition for the remaining 70 gigs.. However, it MUST be
NTFS if you want to access more than 32gigs of it when partitioning and
formatting from within XP. Although FAT32 supports much much more, MS
doesn't want you to to use anything besides NTFS on large drives.

James,

Many thanks for the very prompt response, worked like a charm.

Cheers, Jason.
