Clean install?

I am curious if a clean install will make the drivers for Bluetooth and my 5
in one memory card reader work?
I have vista Ultimate, and its working fine, have had no problems except
those two. I cannot get drivers, and its very irritating.

Will a clean install fix this? Also if I backup folders and some files, to a
DVD, and then clean install and then restore these, will this effect the way
vista performs? or is this even possible?

Thanks for any help!

Not necessarily, unless the device is known to be compatible with Vista out
of the box. You might have to add the Device for it to be recognized and
then certain software needs to be installed for this to occur. Restoring
files you have backed up really depends on the type of data, if its large
video files it can affect the performance depending on the systems specs.

You can use the Windows Easy Transfer (WET) Utility to migrate the data and
settings. Save the info to a USB drive or CD/DVD and then use WET to bring
the data back in after the new installation.
