Clean install (format) of Win XP Pro problem

I booted to WinXP Pro. Formated with NTFT. It finsihed,
rebooted...now it has an error:
Couldn't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rkisk(0)parition(1)
NTLDR missing...repeats above about the drive...

Any suggestions?

I had Win 98, upgraded to Win XP but wanted to switch
from FAT to NTFS so I booted to the CD and formatted.

Done this twice....same message

You might not be dual booting but follow the instrutions anyway

pleasee go back and read my post again. i gave you exact instrucions on
howto fix it. notice i said "You might not be dual booting, but follow the
instrutions anyway"
