Citations and Bibliography

Terri

When using Word and opening the References Tab on the Ribbon I have no
options for Insert Citation, Manage Sources, Style and Bibliography. I see a
number of other people have had the same problem. Can you tell me how you
fixed the problem. I missed a number of questions on an exam because this
feature is not working on my software. Thanks

If the tab is greyed out, it's likely that an error occured during
the
installation of Word 2007. You might want to uninstall and reinstall
Word/Office 2007.

Is it possible to access the Citations and Bibliography feature in Word 2007
if EndNote is installed? Since installing EndNote the Citations and
Bibliography group is missing from my References tab.

I don't have EndNote myself, but I believe they just hide the feature.

You could attach it to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) by clicking on
the arrow next to the QAT and selecting "More Commands...". Then in
"Choose commands from:" pick "References Tab". In the list below it,
select "Citations & Bibliography" and click the "Add >>" button.
Finish by clicking "Ok". Now you will have an extra button containing
everything you need to play around with the Word 2007 bibliography
tools.

Thank you for this: it works. Just one thing I had to change: you suggest for
"Choose commands from:" to pick "References Tab". However, under that Tab the
"Citations & Bibliography" option is not there - presumably because it is not
there when I click on the References tab. However, if you select "All
Commands" then it is there.

Thanks a lot,
Charlie.

I cannot find any facility for letters /diaries for citation (virtually every
other source is covered) under required MLA style. This is vital as my
research is predominantly primary / archival. HELP!!

Only the 17 types currently listed in the "Insert Citation" dialog are
supported.

If you have xml/xslt knowledge, you can add extra types or extend
current types (post a follow up and I'll give you a few pointers as it
is rather complex to do). If you don't, you are out of luck and will
have to look into using one of the existing types.
