Cidaemon

Um..
I am having this strange situation. When I leave my computer idle for a some
time, like 2-3 mins, the process cidaemon.exe will consume 90% of my CPU
Usage or more. It slows down the other processes of my computer. I had to end
it in the task manager in order to stop it from using my CPU. I've tried to
leave the computer on the whole night to see if the process can finish its
task, but the next morning, it still consumes 100%.
This is frustrating and annoying.
Can anyone help me with this?

That's the indexing service. You can turn off indexing on individual
drives by opening My Computer, right clicking on the drive, choose
properties and at the bottom of the window untic "Allow Indexing
Service...". Indexing can be turned off all together by disabling the
Indexing service. Start | Run | services.msc | Enter. Scroll to the
indexing service, double click on it, stop it, then set the startup type
to disabled. Indexing creates an index of files on the system to allow
for faster searches. In practice, as you have seen, it's more trouble
than it's worth.
