choosing text in document to automatically update in header

I'm using Word 2003 and I have a document (which will become a template for
future similar documents) with a title, subtitle and date at the top of my
document. I need this information to be entered automatically in the 2nd page
header, and updated automatically everytime I change either the title,
subtitle and/or date. I don't know how to use the codes within Word and would
prefer the easiest / basic way to do this. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!

There are quite a few useful ways to repeat text in a document; these are
summarized at http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Repeating_Data.htm. My preference,
when appropriate, is for StyleRef fields, which update automatically in
headers and footers. If the date can be inserted by means of a field
(CREATEDATE, SAVEDATE, PRINTDATE), then that's the easiest approach for it.
