Choosing of what program to open when selecting 'edit' for particular file types - how to do it?

Hello,

When I right-click on a .PNG file in Windows Explorer in XP, some of the
options I have from the pop-up menu are 'Open' and 'Edit'.

I can choose to change what program I want .PNG files to open with by going
into the the menu-bar options: 'Tools->Folder Options->File Types' and then
'Browse' the program. However, I want to be able to say what program I want
the file to open in when I select 'Edit'. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

For example, 'Opening' a .TXT file opens it in Notepad, and if I select
'Edit', it opens in Notepad as well.
For example, 'Opening' a .PSD file opens it in a image viewing program
called 'ACDSEE', but if I select 'Edit', it opens in Photoshop.

Sincerely,
Jack.

Jack,

Change the default image editor application, invoked from Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer:
