Chkdsk stopped working

Chkdsk stopped working. Past couple of days windows has given me a couple of
error messages saying "Please run chkdsk," but chkdsk doesn't work anymore.

When I run it from the command prompt, it doesn't fix the errors, i use the
/f switch-> it can't lock the drive, i use the /x switch -> same thing, i
schedule it for the next restart-> it loads chkdsk, does the 10 second
countdown, but then it doesn't scan the drive, it just ends the chkdsk and
continues to load windows. How can I fix this?!?!?

chkdsk /r implies /p

/p does not make any changes to the drive

Hi,

Boot to the Recovery Console using the CD or boot floppy set, run "chkdsk
C: /f" from there.

It's chkdsk /p from the recovery console.
