My computer launches CHKDSK everytime I start it up. I have partisioned my C:
drive in to two drives. How can I stop it from running CHKDSK?

Assuming it is not running chkdsk for a very good reason you can turn off
the check of a dirty disk (and it is an NTFS FS) by going to the command
prompt and typing "chkntfs c: /x" no quotes.

Try using the system configuration utility. You get to this by typing in
MSCONFIG in the run box. This brings up the service. You then click on the
last tab called startup. From here you can disable different programs that
start up on the boot. You might find chkdsk here.

Try HD Tune (freeware). Download and run it and see what it turns up.
http://www.hdtune.com/

Select the Info tabs and place the cursor on C:\ under Drive letter
and then double click the two page icon ( copy to
Clipboard ) and copy into a further message.

Select the Health tab and then double click the two page icon ( copy to
Clipboard ) and copy into a further message.

Also do a full surface scan with HD Tune. Are there sign you have bad
sectors on the disk?

Hope this helps.
