I am working in the company named ascom transport systems.
We are engineering PC based revenue systems.
One of the project I am working with, uses Windows XP
Professional Operating System.
In the top of that we have a sale application, written by
the software groupe.
About 2000 transaction are made in a day and 140 machines
in the field.
The problem:
Evry month and a half we are experiencing failures.
After analyzing a drive for a first time with CMD=CHKDSK i
am getting the following messages:
1. CHKDSK is recovering lost files.
2. CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the
master file table's (MFT) BITMAP.
3. CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the
Volume BITMAP.
4. Windows found problems with the file system.
After analyzing a drive with CMD=CHKDSK right after the
first time (second time) i am getting the following
messages:
1. Correcting errors in the master file table's (MFT)
BITMAP attribute.
2. Correcting errors in the Volume BITMAP.
3. Windows found problemes with the file sytem.
Can you please expain me what all that means?
Can it be the cause of failure?
Thank you,
Jacques
